Change in the Management Board of Plinovodi d.o.o.

As of 1 February 2026, Matija Bitenc has assumed the position of General Manager, while Aleš Gruden has taken on the role of Member of the Management Board of Plinovodi d.o.o. Both appointments were made following the approval of the Energy Agency, in accordance with the resolution of the Supervisory Board from November 2025.

 

The appointment of Matija Bitenc represents a continuation of management continuity, as in the previous period he participated as a member of the Management Board in shaping the company’s key development directions and led the company’s core strategic areas of operation.

Plinovodi remains focused on ensuring the safe, reliable, and stable operation of the natural gas transmission system, while also pursuing the long-term development of infrastructure in line with the company’s strategic objectives and the regulatory framework.

Continuation of stable and responsible leadership

As General Manager, Matija Bitenc will continue his work in the areas of strategic development, investments, regulation, and cooperation within European energy institutions, with the aim of ensuring the long-term reliability of the system and stable business operations.

Technical Strengthening of the Management Board

Joining the company as a new member of the Management Board is Aleš Gruden, an expert with many years of experience in the energy sector, distribution systems, and the management of technical organizations. He previously worked within the Petrol Group and held managerial positions in an international environment.

At Plinovodi, he will assume responsibility for leading the technical sector, with a focus on the development of the transmission system, the reliable operation of infrastructure, and continued technological advancement.

Commitment to Long-Term System Reliability

In cooperation with employees, the regulator, government institutions, and partners, the Management Board will continue to operate in line with Plinovodi’s mission – to ensure reliable supply, safe transmission system operation, and long-term stability in a changing energy environment.
